This lovely Sunset decorative pillow cover is hand-woven on ancient bamboo looms by women weavers of the indigenous Bodo tribe from Northern India.

Made from 100% cotton, using eco-friendly dyes, our pillow cover incorporates indigenous tribal motifs inspired by the local landscape into a contemporary aesthetic. For instance, depicted in the weave are arrow shapes of the leaves of a locally grown bitter tasting vegetable the women call 'maita'.

The women - considered some of the poorest in the region - have been brought under the roof of a cooperative that was formed by a local non profit organization that was impressed by the women's creative talents and sought to help them expand their income opportunities.  Today, there are over one hundred weavers working on this initiaitive.
