Product Description

Not only are these hard cover journals perfect to record your reflections in but they are beautifully designed with a colorful pattern of delicate foliage and crafted by the talented artisans of Rajasthan, India.

Created entirely of earth friendly tree free paper, these journals are recycled from cotton scraps left over from the manufacture of unbleached cotton tee shirts. This recycling process first starts with blending the scrap fabric with water until the mixture becomes a watery paste.  To create the broad spectrum of colors available, vibrant azo-free dyes are added at this stage.  The complete sheets are then easily transformed into these lovely journals.

The desert region of Rajasthan has been affected by drought and famine in the past and has been witness to migrations of artisans who leave their homes and villages in the rural area behind in order to seek their livelihood.   Through this fair trade enterprise,  the paper makers of Rajasthan now have an opportunity to create a secure and hopeful future.

Your journal measures 5"x7" and comes with 100 blank pages. A story card is included.

GIFT BOX:   This gift is available gift boxed.  It will arrive in our signature white gift box with raffia ribbon and will be presented with a lovely copper Cambodian peace bell - once part of a disused landmine and now recreated into bells for their cows and oxen by Cambodian villagers.  Your gift box option is available at checkout.
