Our Orphan Bracelets are handcrafted by South African women living with HIV/AIDS using (lead free) copper, brass and aluminum wire.

They are presented as part of a larger global campaign supported by our partner, Until There's A Cure, a national organization dedicated to eradicating HIV/AIDS by raising awarenss and funds to combat this global pandemic. 

Through this campaign,  AIDS orphans in South Africa are helped by equipping their primary caretakers - usually women - with the means to sustain themselves and improve their health.  This includes training women to make bracelets to sell for an income and establish community- based permaculture gardens.  The Orphan Bracelet Campaign was founded by director Louise Hogarth, who was inspired by the women and children in her film "Angels in the Dust".

Today about 80 women and their families in communities in the Eastern part of Southern Africa are supported through this income generation program.  Through your purchase, you have a lasting direct impact on the lives of HIV/AIDS affected mothers and children who desperately need your help.
