The Saheli Scarf is a hand embroidered cotton scarf/stole in a vibrant palette of deep cranberry with colorful  "tanka" applique embroidery  unique to this desert area of north west India. Symbolizing sisterhood ("saheli") this scarf makes a wonderful gift for that special saheli in your life.

Here at the Rajasthan Women's Cooperative there are over 625 artisans who are part of the women's economic empowerment movement in India which seeks to help women step into their world as entrepreneurs and leaders. At this weavers cooperative, women are taught embroidery and weaving skills and then organized into 48 working groups, each of which is managed by a leader who rotates every three years, giving women the opportunity to travel, get leadership experience and learn about how to work together to reach their collective goals.   Dignity in Action.
