Shiloh the Sheep, Guatemala

This adorable sheep is handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in Guatemala of felted wool on a wire frame.  It includes a tag with a hand written name of the Guatemalan woman who made it and even has a bell around its neck.  Approximately 5" long and 3" high.

Choking hazard:  not for children under age 3.

The women who make our felted animals live in the highlands of Guatemala.  Felting is a new Guatemalan craft and the products have been so popular that the cooperative employs more and more women every year.  They receive fair wages and are learning computer and other business skills.  In the above photo the artisan is enjoying reading facebook messages that her fans have posted.
