This gorgeous pillow cover was handwoven by Indonesian women using a variety of weaving techniques. The intricate central textile is 100% cotton, woven by women of Sumba, a remote island of eastern Indonesia. The detail of the weaving pattern is stunning!
The frame and outer textiles are Balinese Ikat - the use of different colors for the warp and weft give a two-shot luminous quality, even though the resulting colors here are solid. And as always, the artisans are paid fair wages, enabling them to greatly improve their standard of living.
