This exquisite, luxuriously soft scarf is one of our absolute favorites.  It is handmade in Bali using a unique batik dye technique.  The colors in this version include a very dark blue and a variety of black, white and gray tones. The rayon is very high quality and after the dying process the fabric receives a softening treatment, creating a silk-like texture.  Wear it as a scarf around the neck or a summer wrap across the shoulders.

Each piece is hand dyed so the fabric patterns will vary.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This scarf was handmade in a fair trade cooperative in Bali.  A design driven social enterprise, the group's mission is to create contemporary easy-to-wear styles while creating jobs and new opportunities for the Balinese people.  The artisans are paid fair wages and  are also learning  business skills to help create self-sufficiency.  In addition, the company donates monthly to Soulmen, a non-profit in Bali that helps the disabled, poor, sick and injured.
