We are thrilled to introduce this striking, on-trend bracelet as part of our End series, handmade by female artisans in Rwanda, many of whom are HIV positive. The purchase of this bracelet provides an artisan with food for two weeks.
In partnership with the UN Women For Peace Association, the proceeds from the sale of this bracelet help raise awareness about violence and oppression of women across the globe. The End Violence Against Women Bracelet features orange beads (the designated violence awareness color) strung on a stretch cord and adorned with interlocking, shiny silver-plated beads. It is finished off with 2 charms, a silver heart and one that says "Same Sky." Each bracelet comes with a card describing the project and a matching gift bag.
Bracelet measure 1/2" wide and 7" in diameter. It stretches to best fit wrists 6-8" in diameter. For best care do not expose to water.
ABOUT THE ARTISANS
The Same Sky project employs approximately 85 female artisans in Rwanda, most of whom were victims of the 1994 genocide. Many are also HIV positive. The sale of their beautiful handmade jewelry has provided the artisans with not only an income to support themselves and their families but also access to healthcare and a newfound sense of pride, dignity and hope.
