This beautiful pendant, handcrafted out of .990 sterling silver filigree, was made in a fair trade women's cooperative in Peru. The stunning detail on the silver work is exquisite.
Filigree is an intricate form of ornamental jewel work made by intertwining silver or gold wire. It is very light weight and is meant to look as delicate as lace. It is what makes Peruvian jewelry so beautiful and unique.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS
The female artisans who make this pendant used to work 80 hours a week in jewelry factories, earning $115 a month. Several years ago they joined a Fair Trade Cooperative and now are running their own business, earning much more than before. They are highly skilled craftswomen, who have also learned to design their own jewelry.
