ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This piece of jewelry was handmade in a fair trade cooperative in central Mexico.  The cooperative began 35 years ago, and has grown significantly over the years to employ generations of talented artisans.  They are master silversmiths who use age-old techniques to handcraft contemporary jewelry.  The artisans are paid excellent wages, work in safe conditions, and have seen their lives greatly improved through fair trade practices.
