This festive bracelet features an alternating pattern of small repurposed kantha textile beads with tiny seed beads. The artisans cover handmade wooden beads with recycled remnants of discarded vintage cotton saris and quilts. This petite bracelet looks pretty on its own our layered.
Beads measure 1/4" at widest point. Stretches to fit most wrists.
Please note: colors will vary as each bead is individually made.
ABOUT THE ARTISANS
Our kantha jewelry collection is handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in India. The artisans are paid excellent wages and have seen their standard of living greatly increase through fair trade practices. In addition, Worldfinds, the company working with the women, has established the Girls Education Fund, which provides scholarships for marginalized girls to continue school. In India it is estimated that 64% of adolescent girls are forced to leave school early to take care of younger siblings, help run the household or for arranged marriages.
