Recycled Sari Necklace - Jewel Tones, India

This fabulous necklace features a stunning array of repurposed kantha textile beads. The artisans cover handmade wooden beads with recycled remnants of discarded vintage cotton saris and quilts.  This version has mostly purple, pink, blue and green beads.

This versatile piece can be worn as a necklace (single or double) or as a multi-strand bracelet.  It has a clasp so can be opened up and wrapped around the neck or wrist.

Approximately 48" long.

Please note:  colors will vary as each bead is individually made.

This scarf was handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in India.  The artisans are not only paid excellent wages but receive interest-free loans, business and computer training, and advances to purchase raw materials. They also have access to health clinics and education for their children.
