This beautiful yet simple tagua bracelet will add a splash of color to any outfit! It is handcrafted by female artisans in Ecuador out of finely polished and dyed tagua nuts, which are considered an ecological alternative to ivory. You can see the grain pattern of the nut through the dye!
The tagua nut comes from the Ivory-nut Palm Tree in areas throughout the Amazon rainforest. The work it takes to make it into jewelry is extraordinary - the tagua has to be sun dried, polished, carved, sanded and dyed before the bracelet is even put together. This is truly a work of art!
The Ecuadorian artisans who make this bracelet have found their lives vastly improved through fair trade business practices.
This bracelet is on an elastic cord so adjusts to fit most wrists.
