ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This item was handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in Kolkata, India.  The artisans are vulnerable members of society who have found a new path towards self-sufficiency through fair trade practices. In addition to being paid excellent wages, they are provided with marketing, design, finance and exporting assistance.
