This exquisite large tote bag is handmade out of woven cotton with intricate detailed embroidery work.  The Maya women are expert embroiderers.  The back is solid cotton with two outside zippered pockets.  It is fully lined with an inside pocket and padded shoulder straps.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This jewelry was handmade by women in a fair trade cooperative in the highlands of Guatemala near Lake Atitlan.  Not only are the artisans paid fair wages, but they are able to work from home so that they can care for their children while earning a living wage. The artisans have greatly improved their standard of living through the sale of this beautiful jewelry.
