These adorable monkey is handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in Guatemala out of felted wool on a wire frame. It includes a tag with a hand-written name of the Guatemalan woman who made it.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

The women who make our felted animals live in the highlands of Guatemala.  Felting is a new Guatemalan craft and the products have been so popular that the cooperative employs more and more women every year.  They receive fair wages and are learning computer and other business skills.  In the above photo the artisan is enjoying reading facebook messages that her fans have posted.
