This vibrant, colorful fair trade basket is perfect for holding household treasures on a table, a shelf, or anywhere that could use some fresh color. It's handcrafted from kaisa grasses, wrapped with recycled saris, and then stitched together.  This stunning basket will make a wonderful gift.

Measures approximately 11.75" in diameter by 4" in height, and weighs approx. 1/2 lb (it's lightweight).

Please note:  Colors and patterns will vary, since the fabric is recycled.  See photos for examples.  This is a soft sided basket.

All of our products are shipped with cards containing information about fair trade and the corresponding artisan group.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This item was handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in India.  The artisans are vulnerable members of society who have found a new path towards self-sufficiency through fair trade practices. In addition to being paid excellent wages, they are provided with marketing, design, finance and exporting assistance.
