ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This beautiful bag was handmade by disabled women in a fair trade cooperative in Cambodia, including polio survivors or those injured by landmines.  The artisans are paid excellent wages and housing is provided for several of the women.  Sustainable materials such as recycled cotton are used in production.  A portion of the proceeds are donated to Damnok Toek, an NGO in Cambodia that works toward eradicating human trafficking.  Providing a stable income through the sale of the bags also helps prevent the women from being trafficked.
