ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This piece of clothing was hand woven in a fair trade cooperative in Nepal.  The artisans are master weavers and combine traditional techniques with contemporary styles and colors.  The artisans are paid fair wages and work in safe, healthy conditions.  Recycled materials are used whenever possible, as the cooperative has a commitment to sustainable business practices.  Micro loans have helped artisans start their own businesses, and scholarships are available to send children to school.
