This stunning hat is hand knit in Nepal out of heavy New Zealand wool. Warm, cozy and tightly knit, this is one of our highest quality, warmest wool hats. The inside is lined with fleece around the ears.  The colors on this one have a southwest flair with brown on top and a variety earthy colors throughout.  It is finished off with a cute braided tassel on top.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This piece of knitwear was handmade by women artisans in a fair trade cooperative in Nepal.  The cooperative began in 1985 with 25 women, and has grown to employ more than 1200 in 8 workshops across the Kathmandu Valley.  In addition to receiving fair wages the women have opportunities for skill development, work in safe conditions and are learning business skills.
