ABOUT THE ARTISANS

In Western India in remote villages subject to endless seasons of drought, famine and poverty, you will discover over 200 women involved in this thriving rural enterprise. Handmade paper production is considered to be a highly effective means of creating sustainable livelihoods in rural areas, especially for unskilled women who do not have previous technical experience. And to keep their environmental footprint down, they use paper made from recycled cotton rags instead of trees.
